TeslaCorsa 43 is in the books, and what a way to kick off the 2026 season. Over 40 drivers descended on Buttonwillow Raceway Park for a full day on the CW13 track configuration, and the mix of first-timers and seasoned veterans made this one of the more memorable rounds in recent memory. That’s what this series has always been about: electric performance, real people, and a track that makes every Tesla feel like a completely different machine. Oh yes, and a lot of fun times hanging out with like-minded Tesla owners.
First-Timers Who Stole the Show
Six drivers at TeslaCorsa 43 had never set foot on a racetrack before. By the end of the day, most of them didn’t want to leave.
Damien, a retired mailman, arrived at Buttonwillow with no track experience and a healthy dose of nerves. His first session was all about learning: finding the lines, building trust at speed, and getting a feel for what his car could actually do in a controlled environment. By his second session, none of that hesitation was visible. He was running laps with a grin that didn’t leave his face for the rest of the day. That kind of transformation in a single afternoon is exactly the reason TeslaCorsa exists.
Then there were Jason and his cousin from Los Angeles. They started the day as observers, hanging back and watching from the sidelines. Something shifted as the sessions wore on. They caught the track bug hard and spent the afternoon chasing down every experienced driver they could find and asking to ride along. They soaked up seat time and knowledge at every opportunity. Safe to say we’ll be seeing them at TeslaCorsa 44 with a very different energy behind the wheel.
One of the quieter highlights: a teenager with prior HPDE experience who brought his entire family out to share the experience. He spent the day giving his family members laps in their Model S, turning a track day into a family event. That’s a side of TeslaCorsa that doesn’t always get talked about, and it’s one of the best things about what this community has built.
Every Tesla on Track
One of the defining characteristics of TeslaCorsa is the variety. There’s no single type of Tesla, no single type of driver. TeslaCorsa 43 featured first-generation Model S classics making their case on track, Model S Plaids doing what tri-motor power does when it has room to breathe, Cybertrucks that drew second looks from every driver in the paddock, Model 3s across multiple trims, and Model Y Performance cars reminding everyone they’re far more capable than their daily-driver reputation suggests. If you own a Tesla and have been curious about what it’s capable of beyond public roads, this is the place to find out.
The idea is simple: a worry-free environment for high-adrenaline driving, without the risks that come with pushing hard on public roads. It’s the right place to test your limits, punish your brakes, and wear out a set of tires with a clear conscience. And more often than not, it’s also where the aftermarket tuning bug bites, the kind that drains your bank account and fills your heart with joy in equal measure.
What to Know Before Your First TeslaCorsa
If TeslaCorsa is on your radar but you haven’t made it out yet, here are the basics. No prior track experience is required; the event is structured to accommodate all skill levels, with instruction available for beginners and room for experienced drivers to push harder. Track days run differently than street driving: it’s organized, paced, and designed so you build speed at your own rate. Most participants drive their daily Teslas to the event, run sessions throughout the day, and drive home the same afternoon.
You’ll need a helmet (loaners are available on site), comfortable clothes, sunscreen, and plenty of water. Arrive with a full charge if possible. There is a Tesla Supercharger on site at Buttonwillow. Before the event, check your tire condition and brake pads. That’s genuinely all the preparation most first-timers need.
As for whether your Tesla is fast enough: every single car that showed up to TeslaCorsa 43 had a great day on track. Base Model 3 or full Plaid, the circuit reveals a version of your car that public roads simply can’t.
